Bloody good handle, confident guard will protect motors over rough'n'rocky trails and be O.K. if careering off without me.
For me hard to fit, stripped screws had to get skate shop to fix and fit. Not cheap but worth it.
Longtime skater since the 70's, always loved speed so never did the pools or ramps, my thing was longboards bombing hills at 60mph.
Now this electric board is perfect, Handles great fun to carve around on and it likes Dirt!!
It may “look tough”, but it’s not “built to withstand even the roughest terrains”. The way you pick it up is awkward and feels bad to carry the board around as the ergonomics are just plain uncomfortable. Carrying by just the trucks feels way better. It also adds noticeable weight. Mine completely broke off after a two mile city ride in dedicated bike lanes. When I got to where I was going I bent down to pick it up and it was a shock to see it gone with all four screws clearly holding on to the rest of what was my bash guard. Emailed customer service and their instant response told me to buy another one as mine was out of warranty. Major disappointment and I am not interested in ordering the same exact thing knowing it would break off again in another year or so.

We hear your feedback about the ergonomics of the bash guard. This guard was designed to protect the motors and also double as a handy handle when needed. We're sorry to hear you've found it unpleasant.
I can see you'd owned your bash guard for over 2 years before the break occurred and, yes, the warranty coverage of manufacturing faults and defects is for 12 months which means you were unfortunately over 2x outside the warranty timeframe.
When you reached out to us, Mariah assisted but may not have understood your request correctly. As we've seen breaks like this occur due to loose hardware resulting in the bash guard vibrating and causing damage to the connecting components, Mariah simply directed on how to purchase a new guard as yours was well outside it's warranty period.
If you happen to be chasing a new guard, considering the time you'd owned the guard and the elapsed warranty coverage, we'd be happy to offer you a replacement guard at 50% off. If you're interested, please respond to your email thread with Mariah mentioning this review response and we'll assist!

I was happy with this guard until I found out the little stones on the road or dirt on the trails could go in between the guard and the motor. The mini stone scratch my left motor and made a loop mark :(
Today, a piece of wood went in between the guard again and scratched left motor again.
I got this guard to protect my Motors and seems it is rather damaging !!
Hey, appreciate the feedback. The guard’s designed to deflect larger debris, but we get how smaller stones or bits of wood can still sneak through in certain conditions. We’ll pass this on to the design team, it helps us improve. Thanks for sharing your experience.

The metal is far too thick that rocks get wedged between the bash guard and motor and just grinds away at my motors. This bash guard has realistically done more damage to my motors than protection. Wish I would have known they sold the Stoke bash guard and works on the GTR2, otherwise I would have bought that. Cause I doubt any rocks would get stick in there, cause of the thinner metal.
This bash guard is perfect as a handle, and to protect the motors if it somehow goes backward into something. But my complaint is that it has done more damage to my motors than protection. When I'm riding my AT wheels and riding on gravel, small rocks get caught in between the bash guard and the motors and just grinds away at the motors, the bash guard is too thick and too close to the motors. Could be solved by using a skinnier design, like my Acedeck has. I have silver lines all over both my motors from this happening. Never had a situation where it actually protected my motors either. But either way it's nice to have as a handle, and the possibility of it ramming something with the motors.
I love the look of it, but I wouldn't recommend it if you ride on surfaces with loose stones. Does a great job as a stone trap, they tend to get caught between it and the motors, and a bad one will seize a motor. Not cool when you're doing 40kph... Keep an eye out for these scars going around your motors, because this is what is happening. I've gone to the bar style guard now, will ride that for a bit once I've healed up and see how that goes.

This is a must! There are so many reasons to have this bash gaurd that i could be here forever. Definitely recommend!

As with everything Evolve , the bash guard is excellent. A solid protection barrier to one of the most expensive parts of your board, the motors and gearing. If I could critique anything is that adding it to the board and bumping the purchase price to cover it would be my recommendation. It’s a must have!

Makes transit way easier and less space needed at home as well
I recently bought a new GTR carbon and a force bash kit. I found the kit very easy to assemble and extremely well-made. I know the motors will be protected when I do some major slides. Great job again guys

Absolutely love this guard. Looks wicked and is made extremely well. Fitted very quickly without any issue whatsoever. Also doubles as a handle for the board. Couldn't recommend this any higher.

I think they look Awesome, I now ride for 3 Hour in the Mornings 6am to 9pm & for 3 Hours in the Evenings after getting this Handle & it’ s really handy having a Handle when I Walk through Town. Its Harder to put my Evolve Carbon GTR into my 86GTS tiny Boot area so, I now have to fold the Back Seat down but, thats a small inconvenience!

The bash guard is not machined properly. It’s slightly bigger and push the motor out messing with the alignment of the belts. It’s a pity, because the bash guard is a convenient way of carrying the board and it looks great.
